SUREFIRE first sparked in Los Angeles in 2013 and 2014 and is now expanding to cities around the country – starting with Salt Lake City!

Surefire Event Locations in US

SUREFIRE is an innovative, one-of-kind event which is created BY GIRLS and FOR GIRLS! We look to girls first for our content, outreach and the topics we curate for mainstage and workshops.  It’s all about you! In doing so, we bring together the resources of your local community for one special day – to offer workshops, skills and unique learning activities!

Our founder is from Idaho Falls, Idaho and attended Utah State University – so this feels like coming home.

We believe in 3 main attitudes for success at a SUREFIRE event (and beyond!)

Discover Your Own Awesome

Celebrate Other Girls’ Awesome

Cultivate an Abundance Mentality

Utah Wonder Women is partnering to bring SUREFIRE to Salt Lake City.  As the premier community for today’s accomplished women and tomorrow’s leaders, UWW members are perfectly positioned to serve as mentors for SUREFIRE girls.  This represents an unprecedented intergenerational investment in female leadership – one sure to kick-start our girls career ambitions!

PARENTS!

There’s a track for you too.

Everyone can attend mainstage sessions, and while girls are in workshops, parents can hear from experts about college prep, teens & tech and more.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE – JOIN US!

COMMUNITY VILLAGE

We welcome local organizations and sponsors to provide materials, booths or representatives in the main room so that girls can see as many resources from their community as possible.  But we also have games, a photo booth, activities and much more.

GIRLS – COME EARLY on the day of so you can meet with and win prizes from our fantastic partners!

LOCAL MENTORS

SUREFIRE attendees have the chance to sign-up and be paired with a professional female mentor! We hope that every girl will take advantage of this incredible opportunity.  If you would like to sign-up to be a mentor, please visit our Contact Us page, and girls sign-up to receive one when you register!

POLITICAL CONSORTIUM

We need girls in government, and what better way than to start with local leaders? We would be honored if you would join us in supporting our cause and this event by submitting a photo and short bio we can post on our website as part of our political supporters.  We want to show the girls you care about their success!

Jenifer
Park City High School

As a young Mexican/Latina girl of color, I did not grow up with a lot of role models that looked like me. I want to be a role model that is able to connect with girls of diverse backgrounds and empower girls all ages to pursue a higher education. I want to graduate from high school and continue my education by attending college at the University of Utah. My ultimate goal is to be an immigration attorney and come back to my hometown Park City and help the underserved immigrant population of adults, teens and children. The phrase SUREFIRE GIRL means to me the path to being able to succeed despite certain life obstacles and challenges. Being a strong girl who can walk through FIRE.
